How did you hear about Pattern?

I stumbled upon the website when looking for fashion and culture-related events happening in Indianapolis.

What’s the most interesting thing that’s happening culturally in Indianapolis right now?

A huge cultural movement that has been building up over the last couple of years is the budding restaurant/brewery industry in downtown Indianapolis, especially in the Fountain Square neighborhood. There has been an emphasis put on locally owned restaurants and the creative side of food.

What do you hope to accomplish over the 12 weeks of your internship?

I hope to gain hands-on experience because it is one thing to learn and understand aspects of the energy from a book or a lecture, but being able to apply those concepts is key. Also, so many entry-level positions require experience now, so having a foot in the door through working with a smaller corporation is ideal. I want to also help Pattern in making an impact on the industry here in Indianapolis while also meeting great people that share a common goal.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job changes quite often, but at this moment, Creative Directing/Branding for a fashion-related company align most with my current interests.

How did you hear about Pattern?

Online, when searching for fashion related opportunities in Indiana.

What’s the most interesting thing that’s happening culturally in Indianapolis right now?

I think the most interesting  thing happening culturally in Indianapolis right now is the refurbishing of the downtown area; specifically Mass Ave, Fountain Square, and White River Park. There are a lot of new shops, boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and concert venues that are allowing for great events and things to do in the community that we didn’t really have before.

What do you hope to accomplish over the 12 weeks of your internship?

I hope to learn more about the opportunities in the fashion community in Indianapolis and make valuable relationships. Also, to gain more styling, merchandising, and photoshoot experience. Overall, I hope to make a positive impact on the fashion and art community in Indianapolis.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is to have my own successful high end streetwear brand under the name ARREIC or to become a designer on the Rick Owens design team.

How did you hear about Pattern?

One day last spring, my friend Lanie and I were shopping in Broad Ripple when we noticed the magazine set out on a table in a boutique.

What’s the most interesting thing that’s happening culturally in Indianapolis right now?

I’m not from the area, but I was very impressed when I visited the Indianapolis Museum of Art earlier this year. I’m excited to visit other art galleries in the city!

What do you hope to accomplish over the 12 weeks of your internship?

I hope to learn more about conducting fashion photo shoots and styling. I also hope to meet some awesome people along the way!

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is being a fashion photographer for a publication that allows me to travel around the world.

How did you hear about Pattern?

I first saw an issue of Pattern in a boutique in Broad Ripple. I loved the aesthetic and the vibe of the magazine and I immediately became interested. Once I found out that Pattern is a non-profit, I was hooked. It’s very cool to see Indy’s fashion scene advance with Pattern’s help.

What’s the most interesting thing that’s happening culturally in Indianapolis right now?

I think the most interesting thing happening in Indianapolis is the continuous conversation about RFRA. It’s exciting to see so many Hoosiers fired up about something. While the attention Indiana received because of RFRA wasn’t the best, all the people in protest of the bill was somewhat comforting. It created a sense of community in all the chaos.

What do you hope to accomplish over the 12 weeks of your internship?

I hope to accomplish a better understanding of the fashion community in Indy. I’m interested in how fashion can grow and evolve in a city that is doing the same. I’m excited to gain more knowledge on each aspect of the industry and to work for a business that is bringing change to the fashion industry and Indianapolis.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is to be some sort of creative director of a business that incorporates my interests in design, fashion and all things magical. Being a creative director would allow me to create and inspire every day and have things inspire me as well. My inspiration for this dream job comes from Designlovefest, a glittery, all out girly, spunky business that produces inspiring content nearly every day. It would incorporate everything I enjoy and because of that I think my days would never be dull. Ugh, the dream.
