Madewell Style Sessions

Last night, in celebration of its new June collection, Madewell hosted Style Sessions, a company-wide fête with several secret deals for its customers. Jessica Quirk, the founder of the super popular personal style blog What I Wore, played on-site stylist for the event, curating a selection of pieces from the collection that appealed to her new laid-back Bloomington lifestyle.

“Moving from New York, I barely had any casual pieces in my closet,” Quirk said. “So I picked some comfortable weekend things that will work well in Bloomington, but not make me look like a college kid!”

Preppy striped shorts, open-weave knits and chambray shirts are among Madewell’s summery June offerings. More casual than its sister store, J.Crew, but more pulled together than co-ed favorites like Urban Outfitters and Abercrombie & Fitch, Madewell is appealing for fashion-minded folk that want to dress down without looking sloppy. The month-old store plans to have many more shopping events for its customers in the future.
