CSO & Pattern unveil fashion showcase opportunity

On Saturday, March 9, 2013, Carmel Symphony Orchestra introduces world-class organist Cameron Carpenter to the Palladium. Once dubbed “the most controversial organist alive,” Cameron’s talent has enthralled audiences all over the world, as has his love of avant-garde fashion.

Inspired by his unique personal style, Pattern and the CSO are offering designers the opportunity to participate in a fashion showcase during the concert’s intermission.

Successful entries will draw inspiration from Cameron’s personal style and his music. Pattern has provided a moodboard for designer reference. The winning designer will receive a cash prize.

Designs will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • technical skill
  • design creativity
  • fabric choice
  • overall concept/inspiration

TO ENTER:

Interested designers must complete the application and submit 2-4 sketches inspired by Cameron’s personal style and/or his music to mariabeth@patternindy.com by 7:00 PM THURSDAY, JANUARY 31, 2013. Organizers will review the applications and sketches. Those chosen to present a design in the fashion showcase will be notified by Wednesday, February 6, 2013.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

All designers must commit to accepted codes of professional conduct, including but not limited to: honoring all dates set on your behalf, designer meetings/teleconferences/emails, fittings, and interviews.

Designers must be available for the entirety of Saturday, March 9, 2013 (approximately 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM). Models, hair, and make-up will be provided under the direction of Pattern and Fresh Fettle LLC.

Designers will not be allowed to participate in the showcase if agreed design is not ready in its entirety or is not up to design standards. Unfinished garments will be disqualified.

By submitting an application, you are authorizing and releasing images, sketches, etc. for use in event and marketing materials. You further acknowledge that you will not be compensated for these images. You hereby waive all rights and release event officials, employees, representatives, agents, licensees, successors, and assigns from, and shall neither sue nor bring any proceeding against such parties for, any claim or cause of action, whether now known or unknown, for defamation, invasion of right to privacy, publicity or personality or any similar matter, or based upon or relating to the use and exploitation of the recordings/printed matter.
