What are your creative outlets?
Graphic Design

What made you interested in this field?
I’ve always liked visual arts, but I became most interested in design after working on my high school newspaper.

What jobs/internships/student organizations are you a part of that help you pursue this field?
I have an internship at the CHNI Media Design Center right now. I used to work for the Ball State Daily News for 3 years, where I did a lot of information graphics and news design.

How would you describe your style?
modern and minimal

What are three words that you would use to describe yourself?
Independent, thoughtful and artistic

What do you draw inspiration from?
I draw a lot of inspiration from nature. I like hiking and gardening and they’re both good activities for thinking things through.

Who are your favorite creatives?
@sticksandink on Instagram is one of my favorite creatives right now. She paints with hot wax and is really inspirational because she started and grew her business in a short amount of time and her artwork is really beautiful. My other favorite creative is a recent Ball State alumna, Stacie Kammerling. I worked with her at the Daily News and still follow her on social media and she’s always so honest about her work and I think she’s a really great person, artist and designer.

What is your favorite part about being a creative?
My favorite part about being a creative is I that I have limitless options about what I can do with my work.

What are your goals/where do you want to be in two years?
I don’t know where I’ll be in two years but I’d like to design for a magazine or a graphic design firm.

What is your dream job?
My dream job is just creating art & working for myself.

Other than this creative outlet, what do you like to do in your freetime?
I like hiking, reading, bicycling, and playing with my dogs.
