Ever since I can remember, I’ve always loved the way I’ve felt when training or racing in sportswear I’ve chosen for myself. Happily looking back, I’ve realized all the beautiful and colorful running shorts and swimsuits I’ve worn at track and swim meets were also there as I achieved my goals I’ve accomplished over the years while wearing them. From choosing colors and materials online to opening the new package when they first arrived in the mail to then wearing them for the first time at a competition or training with a friend, that sportswear helped me to achieve my athletic goals while truly giving an added boost of confidence and style in the process. Whether racing that other runner on the canal path, or spinning next to a friend at spin class, athletic wear serves to give comfort and style on the journey to good health and happiness. As an avid cyclist, runner, and swimmer, the value I place on my training gear is high on my list. Here are a few key pieces I recommend investing in for training and achieving your fitness goals this winter and early spring:
- A warm hat. It will not only keep heat from escaping while you train outside, but it can be a signature piece that can show your personality or at least your favorite color.
- A pair of bib shorts. Investing in a pair of quality cycling shorts will last for many miles whether in spin class or on that breathtaking open road this spring.
- A loose fitting racing singlet. Wearing something as versatile as a racing singlet can last you for many training sessions whether that may be on a late spring evening run on the Downtown canal or indoors during a winter time spin class.
