Black Fashion Entrepreneurs We’re Loving In Indy

October 24 may just be another Saturday to you but it’s actually the inaugural Black Entrepreneur Day. Presented by Chase for Business, this day will feature a special event bringing together business leaders like BET cofounder Robert Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, LL Cool J, Gabrielle Union, and Jamie Foxx, and performances from artists such as Chance The Rapper. You can live stream the event for free across 20+ platforms including entrepreneur Daymond John’s Facebook page. To show some love, we wanted to share a few* of our favorite local fashion entrepreneurs!

Kiarra Logan of Kiarra Logan Looks

Kiarra Logan is a stylist and owner of Kiarra Logan Looks. She specializes in cultivating an effortless aesthetic for a range of clients, having mastered the art of high-end styling and every day looks. Ebony, Fanta, and Kwanza of Runway Diva Boutique

Operating since 2011, Runway Diva Boutique offers a variety of looks from classic to casual as well as styling services and even personal fittings to ensure that their customers walk away satisfied and stunning from head to toe. Get to know them here!

Linda Souders of Restyled by

Linda Souders does it all! Not only is she a passionate entrepreneur, but she also is a full-time nurse. Despite her busy schedule, she makes time for her passion for fashion by being a business owner. ReStyled by is a resale boutique, owned by Linda, specializing in new and gently used clothing, shoes and accessories. CP and Alex Olla of Cargo Streetwear

Two young entrepreneurs banded together to open up their container store “Cargo Streetwear Boutique.” Located on Shelby Street just south of the Raymond exit, it’s hard to miss the bright orange 40 foot container store. A combination of their own personal brands, niche and high end streetwear, makes this store extremely unique. Read all about them here!

Rob Sherrell of [get]BUSY brand

Rob started his streetwear brand [get]BUSY this year and already sold out two collections, one a week after it dropped. We chatted with him about his brand, tweeting things into existence and what it was like majoring in stand up comedy. Read it here!

Robert Jones of GentStyle

Limitations do not exist for Robert Jones. His story is inspiring, his goals are precise and his presence comes with a powerful message. Just at the age of five, he lost his mother and father in the most unfortunate circumstances. Now just 15 years later, he is on the journey to become an influential speaker, content creator and style expert. Using his misfortunes to empower others, he has carefully curated a social media presence and platform following the guise of affordable fashion. His men’s fashion YouTube channel, GentStyle, combines the upscale with the inexpensive while covering a plethora of topics such as grooming guides, accessory reviews, and relationships tips. Monty Matuka of MELI

Monty Matuka, founder of the Luxury Fashion Brand, MELI, aims to use his platform to take part in the global conversation of human inequality and morality. Janae’ Bellamy of Ifyudare

Bold, authentic, passion-driven. These are few of many words that can be used to describe twenty six year old entrepreneur Janae’ Bellamy. Since childhood, the Indianapolis native was drawn to fashion, accessorizing and making a statement. Misteke Harton of Misteke

Misteke Harton is a passion driven designer and creative behind the eye catching aesthetic of Misteke the Brand. Originally from Gary, Indiana, Harton has been perfecting her craft since she first fell in love with fashion design in 2012. It wasn’t until the fall of 2018 that Harton became fully dedicated to the idea of entrepreneurship. LaStar Jackson of Saint Avenue

Determination, optimism and research. These were the building blocks to manifesting the passion driven streetwear brand, Saint Avenue. Brand owner and East Chicago native LaStar Jackson has been developing the Saint Avenue image since 2016. Doing his homework on fashion merchandising and curating a team of professionals to execute his creative vision are just two of the many measures taken to get Saint Avenue where it is today. Owner of Twelve Fourteen Designs, Andrea Campbell is a faith based entrepreneur, wife, and mother of two based in Indianapolis, Indiana. She’s set out to bring couture inspired pieces to the wardrobe of curvy women. Check out her story here!
