Residence: Carmel, IN

Occupation: Blogger & Social Media Influencer

Where did you grow up? Carmel, IN

What is your earliest memory of a noticeable interest in fashion? When I was very young (probably 3 or 4), I would steal my mom and older sister’s clothes and makeup to play dress up. I’d walk around the house in my mom’s way-too-big heels and bright red lipstick. I loved playing dress up and it only grew from that time.

Who or what influences your style? Other bloggers/ influencers, celebrities, street style, runway trends, magazines, and brands. I usually see something I like and then think about how I can make this “me”.

What are your favorite Instagram accounts to follow? Oh my goodness I have so many! @cellajane @tezzamb @emilyluciano @cheraleelyle @discodaydream

How long have you been blogging and building your brand on social media? 3 years

Describe your personal style in four words or one phrase: a reflection of my current mood

Worst fashion trend: Low rise jeans

Best fashion trend: High waisted jeans

What’s your go-to item in your closet? White button-up blouse

Who are your favorite designers, and what do you like about their designs? A few of my favorite designers are Gucci, Zimmerman, Self Portrait, Dolce & Gabanna, Celine, and Dior. I absolutely cannot afford them, but I do enjoy drawing inspiration from their designs and I love seeing their runway styles influence the fast fashion world (which is more in my price point).

What trends are you noticing for spring fashion? Big bold stripes, fruit prints, bright, saturated colors, polka dots, button up dresses and tops, square necklines, crochet, yellow, straw bags, straw hats, statement earrings… I could go on. I LOVE the spring/summer trends right now.

What’s next for you? What short and long term goals are on your list? Right now I’m really focusing on growing my personal brand. I started blogging full time at the beginning of 2018 and I’m currently putting in a ton of time and energy into growing my social platforms and growing my own business. I’m working with a lot of brands right now and doing my best to create great content. In the long term, I definitely want to travel more for my business and also land some bigger brand partnerships with some brands that I love.

Define fashion: This may sound cliche, but fashion is really just a reflection of who you are as a person. It’s all about expressing yourself and wearing pieces that represent your personality and compliment your individuality. That’s why it’s so different for everyone and can’t really be defined, in my opinion.

Did you ever consider leaving the Indy area? If so, what made you stay? Yes, I actually lived in LA for a year (last year). We moved out for my husband’s job and loved living somewhere new. He was recently transferred back to Indy, and we were really excited to come home. I think it was good to get out of our comfort zone and try something different, but we love Indy!

Name your favorite fashion icon: I would say Aimee Song of songofstyle.com. She is a huge leader in the fashion industry (and blogging industry) because she takes risks with her fashion but does it in a way that is still wearable and approachable. I absolutely love her style.

How do you stay inspired? My goals and vision have really inspired me from day one. I know what I want to do and how much work it will take to get there, so I wake up every morning feeling excited to take on the day and chase my dreams. It also helps to look at how far I’ve come. I have to take time to recognize how much I’ve accomplished in 3 short years, and that helps excite and inspire me about where I can be 3 years from now.

Post says one of the most difficult parts of her job is making a vision come to life. “It takes lots of tweaks, patience, do-overs, and frustration to get it right… but it’s so worth it!” she explains, “People don’t realize how much work goes into one photo.” Post emphasizes the importance of remaining consistent. Expanding your presence and brand on social takes a lot of time and patience. Her advice to anyone working to build their brand and social media is to consistently produce quality content. “You really have to be in it for the right reasons.”
