April Meetup: Meet the Founders of Raleigh Denim Workshop

This Thursday, April 30th, we’re really excited to welcome the founders and designers of Raleigh Denim Workshop to Indy to be our guest speakers for the evening.

In 2007, Lytvinenko and his then girlfriend (now wife), Sarah Yarborough, were bringing in just $11,000 a year between the two of them—he was working as a soccer coach in the evenings, and she was a design student at North Carolina State University. In their free time, the couple refurbished dilapidated sewing machines they were buying for cheap off of Craigslist, and then they started focusing on making jeans.

Fast-forward to today, and the company has 25 employees who make more than a few hundred pairs of jeans per week by hand out of their own factory in Raleigh, NC. They also have two stores, one in Raleigh and the other one in SOHO. The brand is carried by stores around the United States and in Europe, including retailers like Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Ave, and Bloomingdales. In Central Indiana, you can find the jeans at Raleigh Limited (No connection!) and Andrew Davis Clothiers in Bloomington. The jeans have a near-cult following, and the couple was recently inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

During the presentation, Victor and Sarah will share candidly about how they got their business off the ground, what worked, what didn’t and why they are so passionate about making their products right here in the US. It’s a compelling story and one with many useful lessons for our community.

I hope you join us! Please RSVP!
