One of the missions of IFC is to unite those in the Indianapolis area fashion industry. We’re talking about not only metaphorically, but also physically. Tourism can bring a lot of money to the industry, but let’s face it: tourists are notoriously lazy. If they’ve come to the city sans car, and are looking for an afternoon of shopping, they want it to be accessible and concentrated. In other words, they don’t want to have to take taxis all over the wider metropolitan areas.
Ideally, we’re looking for an area that has that artsy feel to it; it should be hip, growing, safe, edgy and of course, accessible. We need to understand the needs not only of those visiting the area, but also those inhabiting it: you! The artists, photographers, model agencies, designers, boutiques, makeup studios, etc. This is the reason that the Fashion District Committee was created:
- Research the needs of the community
- Research city development plans to take advantage of what is already happening
- Find the best areas for a fashion district
Hence, the fashion space survey was born. If you, as a fashion professional, hobbyist or student in the Indy area, have even considered a studio/retail space/office, please fill out the survey for us! Your information is vital to the future of the fashion district in Indianapolis. We will share this information with Develop Indy as well.
Survey is at Survey Monkey, and should only take 5 minutes.
